Overview

A courier supports the delivery of services to UnityPoint Health through accurate and efficient shipment, transport, receipt and distribution of parcels and goods. Is a part of the supply chain team and assists in all supply chain functions as workload changes throughout each day. Proper execution of these responsibilities enables the team to provide effective support to clinical staff, physicians and patients.

Responsibilities

Delivery of Medical Supplies/Equipment

· Transports incoming and outgoing parcels, mail, and equipment to locations inside and outside of

UnityPoint Health through use of defined routes.

· Ensures items transported are properly labeled and packaged prior to transport to ensure safety of

driver and goods.

· Uses ERP system, written logs and route sheets to confirm time of delivery and/or receipt of goods

transported.

· Maintains order and cleanliness in all areas worked.

· Participates on teams to enhance team member satisfaction, analyze workflow and work toward

continued efficiency improvements.

· Works closely with others to ensure supplies are available timely in the correct location.

Supply Chain Coordination

· Assists supply chain team as needed. This can include stocking supplies in inventory or customer

areas. Use of ERP system to requisition products and/or other tasks to assist the overall supply chain

goals.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

· Proven history of identifying issues and conflicts and working proactively toward resolution. · Knowledge of supply chain practices, medical supplies, storage, and supply distribution.

License(s)/Certification(s):

· Valid Iowa driver’s license for at least three years with an acceptable or clear rating according to the Motor Vehicle Record chart. (see below) · Must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with no record of DUI, DWI, or similar alcohol or drug related offenses over the past 5 years. · In addition there will be no record of reckless driving, careless driving, speeding over 15 miles above the speed limit, fleeing or eluding a police officer, chemical test refusal, leaving the scene of an accident, driving after revocation or suspension, or passing a stopped school bus in the last 5 years. · Able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles. · Class D – Chauffer (Noncommerical) license with Endorsement 2. (Single-unit vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 16,001 pounds or more up through 26,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Use of computer and ability to learn receipt and delivery / inventory / functions on handheld, laptop, or desktop machines. · Ability to work accurately and quickly · Use of Microsoft Office Suite including outlook, excel and word.

Other:

· Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position including motor vehicles, pallet jacks, and carts. · Working hours are typical to meet hospital operations. Hospitals operate 24x7x365. May be scheduled on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Shift length can vary to meet department needs.
