Job Requirements / Description

Driver I provides daily transportation services to individuals living with Intellectual
and Developmental Disabilities who participate attend the Community Options Group day service.
Typical tasks include of Driver I

  • To provide transportation safely for individuals of the Community Options Program to and from the Day Support program.
  • Maintain and record travel logs indicating the amount of mileage used daily and record the number of passengers transported daily.
  • Refueling the Vehicles.
  • Ensure that the Program Vehicles receive the required Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Driver I position requires Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Requires a high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to the satisfactory completion of one year of a college education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of three months of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES :
Requires a valid driver's license. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City's Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience driving wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Experience providing transportation services to individuals within the human services field, preferable adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to pass CPR , First Aid, TOVA training, and be certified by Modivcare
