In this hybrid role, we are looking for a person who would enjoy the variety of working in the warehouse and driving/delivering. The split is about 60% warehouse work and 40% driving.
This position is Monday - Friday, first shift hours.
Drive gasoline or diesel-powered trucks to transport and deliver products, finished goods, or raw materials to external or internal customers. Simoniz Drivers must provide excellent customer service and are expected to accommodate customer delivery requests. This position requires frequent customer interaction and includes speaking directly with customers and their personnel.
Warehouse Associate Responsibilities
- Unload and load trucks
- Forklift certifications are a plus
- Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments and record discrepancies or damage.
- Pick finished goods and merchandise according to the shipping schedule
- Use UPS/FedEx software as needed
- Use barcode scanners, related computers, and software
- Operate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc.
- Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical inventory counts periodically, and check against inventory control totals using the computer.
- General facility housekeeping tasks.
- Other duties as assigned
Driver Requirements/Responsibilities
- CDL Class B license with HazMat endorsement
- Understand and comply with all DOT rules and regulations involving commercial motor vehicle operators.
- Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing preferred
- Basic math skills
- Ability to handle difficult customer situations and respond to requests for service
- Ability to read Bills of Lading with delivery instructions
- Make deliveries on time and inform the manager of changes in the delivery schedule
- Use GPS and Cell Phone
- Deliver and unload finished goods or raw materials to Simoniz customer locations, production warehouse facilities, or other specified location
- Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition.
- Maintain driver log according to IC regulations
- Load empty drums from the customer location onto truck
- Move 500 pounds of packaged product using a manual drum dolly or electric pallet jack
- Other duties as assigned
- Sitting and driving for long hours inside a truck
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions and possible extreme heat or cold based on weather conditions
- The delivery area may be close to moving machinery or equipment
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- May handle containers of caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPE
- Moderate noise level from forklifts and other equipment
- Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, frequently
- Push or pull up to 100 pounds frequently
- Stand, walk, handle, reach outward and above shoulder, and squat occasionally
