Union Gospel Mission is seeking a Warehouse Associate & Driver to help process, organize, and merchandise donations. This role will have to lift, carry, and move furniture frequently and will drive on occasion to pick up or deliver furniture and other donations. This role also drops off and picks up children from school. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Support Employee is responsible for sorting, organizing, distributing, and receiving material donations for Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. A normal day might look like this:
- First thing in the morning, take children to school in the bus.
- Morning food pick-up routes in the truck.
- Afternoons working in the warehouse.
- Mid-afternoon - pick up children from school in the bus.
Experience:
- Experience as a mover, warehouse worker, large truck driver.
- One year of Warehouse experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must have CDL and Passenger Endorsement
What You Do:
- Greet all donors and recipients with kindness and respect.
- Communicate daily with Warehouse Manager.
- Drop off and pick up children from school.
- Process and arrange donated items in a clean and organized array to appeal to shoppers.
- Sort, hang, fold, and merchandise clothing.
- Shrink wrap, arrange, and clean furniture that is donated.
- Help load furniture and household items onto the UGM trucks for the residents who have graduated the UGM program.
- Help load trucks for outside agencies that we help with furniture.
- Unload UGM truck donations each day.
- Provide receipts for donations received.
- Connect with and direct volunteers.
- Lift 50 lbs or more consistently.
- Willing and able to do other duties as needed.
