Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in New York City, NY

**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse - RN

**Shift:** Night Shift, 7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend required
**Guaranteed Hours:** 34.5 Hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery, with additional experience in Antepartum/Postpartum and Newborn Nursery settings
**License:** NYS RN License required
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, and NRP
**Must-Have:** Magnesium sulfate administration experience, EPIC experience preferred, BSN required
**Job Description:**
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational standards.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and discharge planning, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating their needs and readiness to learn, about their plan of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, considering their values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs in all care aspects.
- Initiate service recovery for patients and family members with concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate managerial level as needed.
- Practice safe, patient-centered care by identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Engage in quality and safety practices and required compliance measures, contributing to institutional process improvement strategies.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with management to ensure supplies and staffing resources meet patient care demands.
- Facilitate patient throughput and document care accurately in compliance with all standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the professional development and support of clinical colleagues, foster a spirit of scholarship, and engage in lifelong learning.
