Title: Forklift Operator Department: Operations Location: Georgetown, TX Reports to: Production Supervisor Classification: HourlyPurpose; Scope of Responsibility: A forklift operator will safely and efficiently operate the forklift to load, unload, and move materials, such as transporting goods to and from production lines, storage areas, and loading docks. Will also prepare merchandise for transport, use radio communications to determine priorities, and perform regular machine maintenance. Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.Responsibilities: Possess a valid forklift license and demonstrate ability to operate lift truck in a safe and efficient manner. Receive parts and supplies, process paperwork and distribute to appropriate locations in the facility. Inspect and correct, if necessary, the packaging of outbound shipments and ensure paperwork is filled out completely. Loading and unloading trucks. Ability to work overtime as directed by management. Perform physical inventory counts as directed. Operate stretch wrap or other systems of packaging within the department. Participate in team activities, including safety and quality efforts within the facility.Job Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Preference given to previous shipping experience. Knowledge of customer requirements. Ability to follow work instructions as well as make independent judgments. Good written and oral skills. Testing will be conducted of job knowledge and skills.
