The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting patients and/or equipment to and from various outside appointments, clinics, nursing facilities, hospitals, or other ancillary locations via hospital-owned vehicle. This position must integrate company values into daily practice.Essential Functions:Transports patients in a safe and professional mannerAssures vehicles are clean and in working order. Responsible for cleaning of inside of van utilizing appropriate chemicals between patients.Communicates with various hospital staff in order to receive relevant data and instructions.Inspects vehicle prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport. Reports vehicle concerns timely.Assists with transferring and balancing patients. Ensures patients physical and overall comfort.Follows all patient safety and vehicle safety requirements. Responsible for knowing what PPE to apply to patient and driver prior to transport.Notifies proper staff regarding changes in condition or behavior of patient.May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
