ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- General plant and warehouse cleanup, including but not limited to, sweeping with push broom, cleaning in and around the stretch wrap machine, vacuuming warehouse floors and taking waste to the landfill if needed.
- Follow instructions written on material shipping orders and/or IFS pick lists.
- General use of hand, power, and air tools.
- Inspect equipment ex. forklift (gas, oil, water).
- Workstation inspections and cleanup.
- Follow and communicate work instructions (written and verbal).
- Monitor material that is being loaded on containers, vans, flatbeds etc.
- Complete daily inspection report of working area.
- Inspect and repair minor leaks in containers.
- Operate and troubleshoot Stretch wrap machine.
- Operate and troubleshoot pallet blow-off stations.
- Operate automatic and manual dock plates.
- Line trailers with cardboard and KFC liner.
- Load pallets of product onto trailers (vans, flatbeds, containers, etc.)
- Secure load in trailers using: Airbags, Plywood Walls, Road Blocks, Straps & Tie guards.
- Receive and route incoming product/ supplies to proper areas.
- Complete bay change forms.
- Refeed broken bags into the refeed station.
- Repackage material.
- Operating propane powered floor sweeper in warehouse.
- Shrouding, Stamping or labeling bags.
- Patch and change broken bags.
- Conduct safety compliance audits (looking for unsafe conditions or unsafe acts).
- Properly complete quality records as required per the Quality Management System.
- Attend extra training classes
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal).
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment (multi-tasking skills).
- The ability to operate equipment.
- Excellent attention to quality and detail.
- Good attendance record – arriving at work on time is critical to success.
- Ability to lift 10 to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical activity including but not limited to:
- Repetitive lifting and bending
- Working on and around equipment
- Ability to use hand tools (shovel, hammer, etc.)
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
