How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Manager of AI/ML Product Strategy and Delivery will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy for how predictive tools should inform decision making in Crew Resources from an analytical and technical perspective. The Manager will be responsible for the development of effective predictive tools that provide actionable, real-time information in the moment to our team members. This work will be accomplished by bringing an in-depth understanding of business processes, a collaborative approach with vendors, and cross-divisional partnerships to drive efficiencies and optimization through data-driven automation. The ideal candidate is both technically adept and highly skilled at navigating organizational complexities to deliver impactful solutions.

This position will report directly to the GM of AI/ML Product Strategy and Delivery and will work closely with IT, Crew Data Insights, Flight Operations, Crew Resources, ODS, and the AI/ML workstreams across the organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the creation and implementation of predictive models to streamline and automate workflows within pilot crew management.
  2. Work with internal teams to ensure predictive models are accurate, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  3. Develop and execute a roadmap in partnership with technology, operational, and financial teams to transform crew data into business intelligence that informs better decision making and streamlines business processes.
  4. Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the integration of data tools and automation technologies.
  5. Lead the end-to-end management of automation initiatives, from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  6. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in predictive analytics, automation, and crew data management.
  7. Present findings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership to facilitate decision-making and strategic alignment.
  8. Promote safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  1. Strong communication skills with the ability to produce logical, concise, relevant, strategic documents and executive presentations.
  2. Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to query and analyze complex data.
  3. Must be open to feedback from, and prioritize the needs of, a diverse set of stakeholders.
  4. Must demonstrate the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and workstreams at once.
  6. Proven track record of successfully working in a cross-departmental team environment.
  7. Applies a customer first approach and mindset to problem solving.
  8. Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
  9. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  10. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  11. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  12. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  1. 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business process optimization, or automation in a managerial role.
  2. Operation Analytics, Decision Science and/or Project Management experience preferred.
  3. Exhibits curiosity, learns quickly, and thinks creatively to help identify solutions.
  4. Experience working in or alongside the aviation industry, particularly within pilot crew management, is highly desirable.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Delta’s data sources, pilot contract and the applications is highly preferred.
