**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Shift:** Night 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM, 13 shifts per month, including weekends and holidays

**Experience:** One year of acute care nursing experience preferred.
**License:** Current New York RN license/registration. BSN required.
**Certifications:**
- BLS certification through American Heart Association
- ACLS certification through American Heart Association (required within 6 months for experienced nurses, 12 months for inexperienced nurses; not required for NICU and OR)
- NRP certification required for Labor & Delivery (must be obtained within 6 months for new hires)
**Must-Have:**
- Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends and practices in patient care
- Completion of Department and Unit Orientation Program
**Job Description:**
- Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Assess patient needs, plan care, implement and evaluate medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital standards.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and commitment to professional accountability and growth.
- Provide respectful care promoting mutual respect, shared decision-making, and informed consent, respecting patient autonomy and dignity.
- Utilize the nursing process for all aspects of care, considering biophysical, psychosocial, education, safety/environment, and discharge planning.
- Make decisions based on prioritization of patient care and unit-based issues.
- Administer blood and blood products according to policy.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Adhere to infection control standards and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
- Delegate tasks to ancillary staff appropriately.
- Support and promote professional nursing practice and participate in Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings, utilizing cost containment practices.
- Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities when necessary.
- Conform to physical demands and requirements for working in a fast-paced environment.
- Adapt to high stress and respond to changing patient, department, and hospital needs.
- Provide care across various population needs, including neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
