As a Prime Video leader, you'll have end-to-end ownership of Global CDN capacity management, design, and technology solutions required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. You'll work on projects that are fast-paced, challenging, and varied. You'll also be able to experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people.

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development Manager to lead the development and deployment of scalable, automated Global Video Delivery Solutions (CDN capacity management, video delivery services, etc.). We operate at Amazon scale where you will lead your teams to design and deploy software that will benefit millions of customers globally. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading and building strong software engineering teams and is obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experiences. You will lead the team in defining software architecture, drive key performance and quality metrics, and communicate effectively with engineers, partners, leaders, and a broad set of stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Living in the Future: Think strategically by having a good 3-year plan and organizing the roadmap each year to achieve that vision.
  2. Execution: Ensure that roadmap projects are delivered on time without any major defects.
  3. Operations: Responsible for Global Video Delivery. Monitor CDN/ISP metrics along with the health of key applications/services in your area.
  4. People Management: Hire the best and coach them to be even better to deliver a world-class experience for our customers.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Build great relationships and communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure successful collaboration.

A day in the life
Working with the Product leader and your team leads to keep an eye on the implementation of strategic initiatives (CDN Capacity Management, Feature development, Re-engineering for scale, etc.). Conduct 1:1s with your team to keep a pulse on group morale and sub-team challenges. Attend strategic meetings with Senior leadership and update them on relevant program statuses. Review production metrics and dashboards to monitor global video delivery for Prime Video.

About the team
Prime Video Delivery is the team responsible for orchestrating the best content delivery experience for Prime Video customers. Whether a request is for video-on-demand or a live event, we strive to have sufficient capacity available for customers to ensure the highest quality viewing experience with zero buffering.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 10+ years of engineering experience
  2. 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  3. 10+ years of planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software experience
  4. Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  5. Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
  2. 5+ years of Media, video processing, or content delivery networking experience
