We are looking for a dependable individual with prior commercial driving experience and a clean driving record to pick up products from vendors and deliver to our customers. Individual must be able to help load and unload the truck and use a pallet jack. Individual also will be helping in the warehouse when needed, when there are no deliveries or pick-ups scheduled.ResponsibilitiesLong-distance driving (possible trips to Peninsula in the summer)Communicating and coordinatingObeying and following applicable traffic lawsSecuring cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicleMaintaining a detailed log of working hoursEnsuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before drivingPlanning routes and meeting delivery schedules with the office and/ or operationsComplying with truck driving rules and regulationsReporting defects, accidents, and violationsPerforming daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)Loading and unloading box trucks with pallet jacksInteracting with customers professionallyPerforming pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reportsVerifying loads for accuracyRead and write EnglishSkillsProven work experience as a truck driverHands-on experience with electronic equipment and software like GPS/ Google Maps/ general knowledge of Anchorage areaExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulationsNo recent moving or driving violationsAdaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)Valid truck driving licenseValid medical card or ability to get oneJob Type: Full-timePay: From $22.00- $25.00 per hourBenefits:Simple IRAPaid time offShift:Monday to Friday 8 hours from 8:00 am -4:30 pm with a half hour lunch break.
