**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery
**Job Specialty:** Labor & Delivery RN (L&D)
**Job Duration:** 13-week assignment
**Shift:** 12-hour nights (6 p.m. - 6 a.m.)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 3 years of experience required
**License:** Must have a valid RN license
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, NIHSS
**Must-Have:**
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring and responding to fetal distress.
- Experience with C-sections.
- Ability to care for patients with pre-eclampsia.
- Strong clinical background in high-risk patients.
- Competence in handling OB emergencies independently.
**Job Description:**
- Float to Emergency Department or MedSurg if experienced.
- Manage 1 to 3 births per day, with approximately 830 births annually.
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2.
- Respiratory Therapist available in the unit 24/7.
- Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians and Health Unit Secretaries.
- Collaborate with OB scrub techs and Health Unit Coordinators (HUC).
- OB/Neonatologist not present in-house; nurses must handle emergencies until providers arrive.
- Couplets care may be required; flexibility to function in different roles.
- Participate in one on-call shift per 4-week schedule and meet weekend shift requirements.
- Focus on patient safety and high-quality care in acute settings.
- Utilize Allscripts - Sunrise charting system.
