Job Summary: --
The Forklift/Loader Operator is responsible for the proper care and operation of equipment such as forklifts and loaders and for maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --
Ensures equipment is maintained according to company standards and customer contracts
Operates company equipment safely
Assists with the maintenance of company equipment and vehicles
Records vehicle information accurately and legibly
Maintains a positive and professional demeanor
Follows yard guidelines to maintain a safe working environment (i.e. speed limits, etc.)
Must be able to load and unload vehicles as required
Must be able to pass training and safety requirements
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: --
Excellent customer service attitude and skills
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Ability to operate basic equipment
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
HS diploma or GED preferred
Required Experience
At least two years of work experience
One year of loader or forklift experience, certification preferred
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
Must have full range of motion consistent with age
Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
