Job Description
A CDL Driver/Material Handler operates company owned or leased tractor trailer and box truck to facilitate shipping and receiving operations. Maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.
Essential Job Functions
- Drive vehicles with Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26, 000 lbs.
- Local driving; majority kept within 8-9 hours.
- Perform required pre-trip, during and post-trip vehicle inspections and provide required reports.
- Ensure delivered material corresponds to products identified on the bill of lading.
- Effectively drive a forklift in a safe manner.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing product.
- Understands proper handling techniques so that product integrity is maintained.
- Maintain all required certifications required by the DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.
- Understands associated material MSDS and HMIS requirements.
- Complete yearly RCRA Hazardous Waste and DOT Initial Training/Annual Review
- Complete the OSHA Hazard Communication Video and Test
- Complete the Hazardous Communication Data Sheets Video and Tests.
- Sign manifests for Hazardous Waste pickup and removal

- May be requested to perform over-time activities.
- Basic computer skills (operating systems, scanning system, etc.)
Qualifications
- CDL License is required.
- Forklift driving is required.
- 2 or more years of experience; manufacturing and industrial experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations.
- Completion High School, GED or equivalent.
- Organization, deadline oriented and time management are required.
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
- An innate sense of direction.
