Description of Role: Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Driver is responsible for safe and efficient operation of MDC vehicles, loading meals and complements for delivery, and delivering meals and complements to home-delivered meal consumers on daily assigned route.

Description of Role: Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Driver is responsible for safe and efficient operation of MDC vehicles, loading meals and complements for delivery, and delivering meals and complements to home-delivered meal consumers on daily assigned route.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- 3 years' work experience including demonstrated ability to safely drive a &fac34;-ton pickup truck with body attachment making frequent delivery stops climbing in and out of trucks. and up and down steps
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record defined as 12 months without an at fault accident and zero DUI violations.
- Working knowledge of driving through City of Philadelphia streets throughout all sections of the city.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation and safety practices a plus.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- Complete daily Pre-trip Inspection form on assigned vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle.
- Load vehicle with meals, complements and meal supplements according to Daily Loading Report for assigned route.
- Review assigned route book and manifest daily to ensure accuracy.
- Operate vehicle safely; drives courteously and follows all traffic laws.
- Report any incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately, following appropriate protocol.
- Complete deliveries to all consumers on assigned route.
- Record deliveries in assigned device and obtain consumer signatures as necessary and/or required.
- Communicate appropriately using two-way radio. Report meal numbers as required at designated times.
- Report any problems encountered during course of delivering meals to MDC immediately, according to established procedures.
- Complete all paperwork as assigned, including, but not limited to: Pre-trip Inspection Form, Incident/accident Reports, Returned Meal Log, recording undelivered meals on Daily Driver Manifest as well as I-Pad/I-Phone.
- Assist with transporting meals to and from storage areas and assembling and packaging meals and complements for delivery to home-delivered meal consumers as necessary.
- Attend monthly training sessions. Completes yearly defensive driving training with on-the-road test.
- Comply with SoloProtect Badge policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Well organized and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills including interacting appropriately with older adults, vulnerable populations, homebound consumers, their family members, and the public.
- Good written communication skills including ability to complete required paperwork accurately.
- Good decision-making skills and exercises good judgement.
- Pass driving test in MDC vehicle.
- Perform consistently in all aspects of work assignments.
- Maintain safe driving record.
- Maintain good attendance record.
