Job Description
The Shag Driver will drive shag truck; pull and back 48 and 53-foot trailers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
•Comply with Federal, State, County, City, OSHA and Company rules and regulations.
•Safely operate shag truck both on and off the company property.
•Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to insure a safe working environment and meet company goal of an injury free workplace.
•Drive shag truck; pull and back trailers. Must be able to spot the correct trailers in the correct docks.
•Use of electronic equipment to perform tasks and communicate with Logistics Manager.
•Physically wash out trailers as needed
•Maintain a wash and shag report.
•Set reefer units at proper temperatures.
•Must be able to follow directions
•Assist traffic office as needed
•Maintain truck cleanliness and track truck maintenance as needed.
•Understand and perform inspections of equipment as required by USDOT rules and regulations.
•Monitor truck parking lot
•Communicate issues with vendor trailers that are not working correctly.

EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to comprehend and follow instructions. Ability to work in a diverse workforce, maintain effective working relationships with peers and management and follow work instruction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Exposed to outside weather and temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Multiple actions in and out of truck to hook up and unhook trailers. Steps up and down from truck cab. Will occasionally park trucks; pull and lift up to 100 pounds.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
