• Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hour (Depending on qualifications)

Position Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from school and on field trips according to scheduled times and routes.
• Operate the school bus or van in a safe and effective manner at all times in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.
• Maintain discipline on the bus, and document any behavioral/discipline issues
• Ensure that the school bus or van is in good operating condition, at all times
• Maintain fuel level at a half tank in order to keep the vehicle at maximum efficiency and usage.
• Complete a thorough inspection of the bus or van before every trip. Accurately and thoroughly complete a Pre-Trip Inspection form that is signed and dated and submit to delegated staff person.
• Perform minor maintenance duties as well as clean the bus or van as scheduled and/or required, including keeping bus free of debris, sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications;

• Drivers are required to meet all DOT requirements including maintaining a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass drug test, background check and driving record check.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have had a driver's license for three or more years
• 1 year of school bus driving experience preferred
• Valid Class B CDL license with school bus and passenger endorsements (training available, please inquire)
