Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The primary function is to move company vehicles from parking spaces to assigned loading docks in the safest manner possible.
  • Conduct a visual inspection of equipment prior to moving asset.
  • Ensures good co-worker relations through consistent on time truck staging and acting in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Utilize wheel chalks for safe loading and departure from dock experience.
  • Assist loaders/drivers for material verification as time permits after all truck staging is complete.
  • Support the shift dispatch team as required.
  • Assist in the safety and security of freight and review loads are within vehicle weight to the best of your ability.
  • Assist in count verification and condition of freight.
  • Share reports of overages, shortages and damages as needed to the dispatch leadership team.
  • Fuel a portion of the truck fleet at the local, nearest fuel station.
  • When all trucks have been assigned to dedicated dock, and no other additional "in house" tasks are to be completed, delivery(s) may be assigned to support or complete the shift.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, Inside and/or outside the CDC.
  • Embrace the potential for cross-training in the transportation department.
  • Adhere to all Processes and Policies.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license meeting Crawford requirements
  • Ability to obtain and pass a DOT physical or equivalent Fit for Duty exam.
  • Six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Hostler/driving/warehouse support)
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred PIT proficiency: reach truck, order picker, "sit down" propane. Current certification a plus
  • Manual dexterity required for operating various warehouse related machinery/equipment and handling small to large products up to 75 lbs.
VEHICLE OPERATION
  • Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and compliant to all State and federal DOT standards and regulations.
  • Makes report of any vehicle problems, defects, or damage.
  • Operates MHE safely and efficiently as required.
  • Reports vehicle accident/incident immediately to management
  • Maintains a truck log according to State and Federal regulations (if applicable)
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water, and always maintain a clean vehicle
