This position is full-time Monday-Friday paying $16 per hour. This position is located on the west side of downtown Indianapolis.
With overall direction from the Manager, Supply Chain, and specific direction from the Production Control team, the Forklift and Box Truck Operator (Operator) supports all production efforts in the supply and removal of components, products, pallets, and all forklift-required transporting. In addition, the Operator loads and unloads truck deliveries. The Operator is responsible for inventory accuracy by learning and operating devices that record the movement of items throughout the facility. The Operator drives the box truck to make deliveries to customers throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area.
Example Duties and Activities
Operates gas and electric forklifts, as well as an automatic-transmission 26' box truck.
Uses scanning equipment to record inventory movement.
Follows all safety rules and common sense practices in the operation of equipment inside a building.
Performs light maintenance, replaces fuel tanks, and records safety inspections on the equipment.
Loads and unloads materials onto trailers with proper loading techniques and weight distribution.
Ensures inventory control by staging, loading, receiving, and unloading trucks. Uses scan gun to document and maintain inventory.
Maintains the cleanliness and general upkeep of the warehouse, which includes but is not limited to the following tasks: stacking pallets, rearranging pallet racking, assembling shelves, sweeping floors, gathering and disposing of boxes.
Communicates status of inventory to management and team.
Required Competencies
Degree and Credential Requirements - Current Forklift Operator certification and a valid Indiana Chauffer's License or ability to obtain.

Communication Skills - Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to recognize the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Mathematical Aptitude - Computes rate, ratio, and percent and draws and interprets bar graphs; skids counts, carton counts, and computing total quantities.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Safety Awareness - Recognizes the risks in activities, applies the right measures to control and manage those risks, and ensures all safety protocols are followed.
Knowledge of Warehouse Processes - Possesses familiarity with receiving, putaway, storage, picking, packing, and shipping to ensure continuous efficient warehousing operations.

Hard to Very Hard Physical Work - Is able to spend time in excess of 8 hours standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms. Can climb, balance, talk and hear. Has the ability to move and lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Can manage frequent exposure to loud noises, outside weather conditions, and moving mechanical parts. Will be occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. There is a risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Visual Acuity - Has close, distance, peripheral, color vision abilities, and is able to adjust focus.
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Driver's License- valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
A drug test will be mandatorybefore hiring.
