Job Summary:
Our company seeks a Delivery Driver / Logistics Team Member to join our team. Applicants should have relevant experience for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe work area for architectural products, lumber, sheet goods, and shipping.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers/box trucks.
- Complete the documentation required for receiving, shipping, and deliveries and enter the information into the business system.
- Assist the production team by retrieving raw materials from the warehouse.
- Work closely with Logistics peers, Production Team, and Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Pack our products with the same care and mindfulness as we do in creating them.
- Prepare and ship outgoing UPS and FedEx packages.
- Deliver architectural products/millwork products to residential and commercial job sites locally and out of town.
- Maintain DOT logs when driving company vehicles.
- Drive GPS-designated truck routes when driving Gaston & Wyatt delivery vehicles.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving laws when driving company vehicles.
- Maintain and keep all company vehicles clean.
- Maintain a company credit card, submit credit card receipts, and complete monthly reports.
- Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested, including emptying trash hoppers and cans throughout production, warehouse, and shipping areas.
Education & Experience Requirement:
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and must be able to pass Virginia Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- Ability to drive a Box truck for deliveries.
- Ability to load and unload trucks when wood or windows shipments arrive using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and physically lifting products.
- Must be able to operate company forklifts.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must pay attention to detail.
- Interact professionally with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent attitude and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and 75 to 100 pounds occasionally.
Physical Requirements & Work Demands:
- Work requires substantial time in a non-climate-controlled warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Occasionally lift or carry light items (up to 75 pounds).
- This job requires sitting, standing, and walking on a concrete floor.
- Position requires exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and sawdust in a plant production environment.
