PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To guard the safety and integrity of all products purchased for the Child Nutrition Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

1. High School diploma, GED or higher
2. Certification in forklift and electric pallet jack operation preferred
3. Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable
4. City of Mission Food Handler Certification
5. Maintain required Professional Development Standard hours as required by TDA for this position. (Must
6. obtain within 6 months of employment)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

1. Knowledge of warehouse procedures such as product rotation (FIFO) and inventory process
2. Ability to operate a standard shift and/or automatic geared vehicle
3. Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to communicate in English both written and oral communication

Experience:

1. Previous experience in food delivery/warehousing preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Reports all departure and arrival to sites daily by radio.
2. Establishes rapport with personnel at all delivery sites in order to become an integral part of the overall success of the food delivery system.
3. Delivers all types of meals to all sites as requested, regardless of assigned route, special diets to any building as needed in a timely manner, and all supplies/chemicals to serving sites as instructed according to safety and sanitation regulations.
4. Displays professionalism in dealing with managers, campus staff, students and/or parents at all times.
5. Assists cafeteria staff with putting away all refrigerator/freezer items and the warehouse staff with inventory or product staging as needing.
6. Follows all inventory procedures and controls with food, merchandise and chemicals.
7. Properly records, returns, and stores any unused food as instructed.
8. Prepares any daily reports as may be necessary for accountability.
9. Returns all signed TRX's, transfers and returns immediately after delivery.
10. Returns all cookware and cardboard on a daily basis to Production Center as instructed.
11. Compacts all cardboard returned to the Production Center.
12. Keeps loading dock area and equipment used clean and orderly on a daily basis.
13. Maintains a clean and safe operating vehicle.
14. Reports any repairs or vehicle/equipment malfunctions to the Driver Crew Leader/Warehouse Crew Leader immediately.
15. Assists the production staff and custodian (as needed) with clean-up such as sweeping, mopping and discarding trash daily as needed.
16. Wears assigned uniforms with shirt tucked in and wears steel toe shoes provided by the District.
17. Respects all driving laws and speed limits immediately report any traffic violations or accidents.
18. Respects federally funded food, equipment and supplies according to TDA/USDA regulations.
19. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others and report accidents immediately.
20. Performs any other duty as requested by the Superintendent, Child Nutrition Program Director, CNP Assistant Director or Driver Crew Leader or Warehouse Crew Leader.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

1. Ability to daily lifting and carrying cases weighting 45 pounds or more and daily pushing and pulling of 70 pounds or more with the assistance of a manual and/or electric pallet jack.
2. Continual driving, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying and climbing
3. Exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures and vehicle fumes
4. Possible irregular hours if required
