ABOUT THE ROLE
The Heavy Truck Driver Operator is a driving position that is responsible for driving materials and equipment to project locations which are subject to provincial boundaries and may require overnight stays. The Heavy Truck Driver Operator will operate various classes of heavy equipment, including a folding crane to make deliveries at locations without the capacity to unload. Certification as a crane operator for "Folding Boom Cranes 22 tons and under" is highly preferred.

Essential Functions
  • Operate WPE's various classes of equipment, along with a folding crane ticket to make deliveries at locations without the capacity to unload
  • Responsible for transporting tools and materials to various project locations
  • Required to load or unload truck and/or trailers, with or without assistance of a Helper
  • Overnight stays may be required, depending on where the delivery is located
  • Perform work of helper/general laborer to assist when no heavy truck driving is required
  • Comply with and adhere to WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR), standards and guidelines in the workplace.
  • Safely and efficiently moving and placing a load at its intended destination
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operating heavy construction equipment and vehicles
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in hauling heavy machinery and equipment
  • Minimum 2 years of 'over-the-road' driving experience
  • Must hold Class 1 BC Drivers License, as well as the ability to be insured under Company policy
  • High school diploma or GED is required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • BC Certification as crane operator for "Folding Boom Cranes 22 tons and under" - Highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR)
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle and vehicles with air brakes
  • Ability to operate a stake bed with a lift gate
  • Heavy lifting is required

  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
