Description
SUMMARY: Load, unload, and deliver supplies and materials to customers in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks materials. As the last point of contact our customers have with Wayne Tile, they must always act in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibilities include delivering wholesale orders to customers in the tri state area.
- Must be comfortable driving in NYC and Long Island.
- Occasionally fills in for retail deliveries driving a flatbed and Moffett.
- Contacts customers to notify of estimated delivery time. Leaves messages and answers return calls to provide customers with excellent service.
- Performs simple vehicle maintenance; cleaning interior of vehicle, checking lights, checking tires, filling fluids, scheduling routine maintenance to keep vehicle running properly.
- Observes all traffic laws and posted speed limits.
- Delivers goods to clients.
- Interacts with the customer in a professional manner.
- Collects required signatures for payment, proof of delivery, and gives a receipt to customer.
- Returns all required documentation to appropriate company official.
- Observes no smoking in delivery vehicle.
- Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance.
- Must get all pertinent information if involved in an accident and inform appropriate company official.
- Unloads vehicle after completing delivery runs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
