Position Overview
A Propane Driver is responsible for delivering loads of propane products to customer locations in a safe, efficient manner, and within a specified window of time, at the direction of dispatch.? These deliveries may take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, in nearly any kind of weather.?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fills Bobtail truck.
  • Deliver bulk quantities to tanks at both residential and commercial sites.
  • Perform duties safely and in accordance with local, state, federal regulations along with DDC procedures.
  • Perform service and repairs to propane tanks to ensure they comply with DOT and ASME standards.
  • Responsible for achieving delivery objectives set forth.
  • Inspect vehicle daily and report any problems in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
  • Interpersonal skills and willingness to take direction from dispatcher and management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and management.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
Requirements
Required/Preferred Education & Experience
  • Minimum two years applicable driving experience.
  • Possess a Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B CDL) with a HazMat endorsement and Tanker Endorsement.
  • A clean driving records.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test and Homeland Security Background Check,
  • Candidates must have a current medical card.
  • Texas Railroad Commission Certification preferred.
Working Environment and Physical Demands (Field Positions)
This position requires the ability to routinely:
  • Lift, push & pull up to 75lbs. repeatedly throughout the course of the shift.
  • Walk, squat, stoop, kneel and bend repeatedly at each delivery location.
  • Enter and exit truck cab multiple times throughout the day.
  • Climb on top of and inspect trailer.
  • Pass a DOT physical and maintain FMCSA drug and alcohol standards.
