Facilities Pay Grade 03
Primary Purpose:
Provide quality and timely support to the District's educational, maintenance, and extracurricular programs by maintaining a well-stocked, rapid response warehousing operation and effective pickup and delivery schedule.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Forklift Operator certification, preferred
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions
Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform basic math accurately and quickly
Knowledge of automated inventory and materials handling systems
Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to: medium to heavy duty trucks with standard shift transmissions, pallet jacks, lift gates, electric and gas powered forklifts, two and four wheel dollies
Minimum Experience:
One year of warehouse and/or delivery experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Distribution and Delivery
Maintain accurate account procedures, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage.
Load and unload delivery trucks, unpack items, and inspect shipments for damage and defects.
Fill requisitions from stock items and verify accuracy of orders.
Vehicle Maintenance
Ensure district vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and fueled.
Practice and model high standards of safety in the performance of all duties with emphasis on safe driving skills to and from locations.
Other
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.
Instruct and train personnel using high standards for safety in the performance of duties when applicable
Respond in a timely manner when contacted regarding urgent situations or emergencies (during or outside of normal business hours)
Exhibit behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible, and serve as role model for staff and public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.

Tools/Equipment Used: Light to medium truck or van; standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, two-way radio; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment, hand truck, dolly, pallet jack; small hand tools
Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects and vehicles; work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and have schedule altered with little or no warning
