**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** L&D/PP/MB - Level II (Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Mother-Baby)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years in specialty
**License:** Required
**Certifications:** BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP, AWHONN
**Must-Have:** Ability to float between labor and delivery and postpartum
**Job Description:**
- Circulate, assist with C-sections, and manage labor, recovery, and OB triage.
- Attend deliveries, assign APGAR scores, and provide breastfeeding assistance and postpartum care.
- Engage in discharge teaching for mother-baby pairings.
- Manage common diagnoses including low- and high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and post-operative care for hysterectomies and gynecological surgeries.
- Care for patients in antepartum, labor, postpartum, and circulating C-sections.
- Titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin when necessary.
- Work under the guidance of a charge nurse and house supervisor.
- Respond to on-call situations within a 20-minute window, while anesthesia is available 24/7.
- Utilize RT equipment like vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Engage in rotational weekend and holiday shifts with on-call requirements every other weekend.
- Wear navy scrubs and adhere to the dress code with designated attire for surgical techs.
- Attend general hospital orientation, alongside specific orientation for nursing and Meditech charting as necessary.
- No external unit floating requirements, but must cover L&D and postpartum within the unit.
**Additional Information:**
- The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staff ratios.
- Surgical techs act as patient care technicians when not assisting in surgery.
- Tele monitoring available, with specific charge nurse support for L&D strips.
- Engage in charting using the Meditech 6.1 system.
- Required orientation includes 8 hours of general and nursing orientation, with additional shifts alongside a preceptor.
