POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced (Associate) Director of Technology Delivery and Application Management to oversee our organization's application technology landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong application and software development technical background coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills to drive the successful integration and management of applications across the organization.
This role must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with other IT leaders, project teams, vendors and other cross functional groups. This person will be extremely knowledgeable of best practices and effective methodologies related to application delivery, application management, development practices, and modern integration approaches within our application portfolio.
We are open to this role being remote, but the ideal candidate would be located near an office location: Dulles, VA, Tempe, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Garden Grove, CA, Union City, CA, Portland, OR, Dallas/Carrollton, TX. Top candidate locations would be Garden Grove, CA or Dallas/Carrollton, TX.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop TDM strategic vision/plans and implement strategic plans for application management and application integration aligned with IT Department and Southland’s objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders both internal IT and with business groups to understand business needs and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Application Lifecycle Management and Technical Support:
- Lead the end-to-end management of applications throughout their lifecycle, including planning, deployment, maintenance, support and retirement.
- Establish and enforce best practices and standards for application development, deployment, and support whether through our key vendors, partners, or other avenues.
- Application Integration:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust application integration solutions to ensure seamless communication and data exchange between different systems.
- Identify integration opportunities and optimize existing integrations to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of application managers, integration specialists, solution analysts, and as needed developers.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to team members to foster their professional growth and development.
- Ability to build additional capacity when needed and also specific technical expertise through vendor partners, contractors, consultants.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select third-party vendors and software solutions for application management and integration.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and influence vendors.
- Manage software purchases, vendor contracts, renewals, etc.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Define measures to assess the performance and effectiveness of application management and integration processes.
- Continuously monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols in all aspects of application management and integration.
- Continuously assess and implement measures to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities related to application security and data protection.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of progressive application management and integration experience, including 5 years of leadership experience.
- Strong technical background with expertise in application development, integration technologies (e.g., APIs, middleware), and enterprise software platforms.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in application management and integration.
- Knowledge of construction or related industries is a plus.
