Description
The Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. You will be tasked with driving and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers who are planning routes and tracking deliveries. A Class A license is required. Successful candidates must have a clean driving record and must pass a drug and alcohol test.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Load and unload goods from the vehicle to customer site verifying contents against shipping invoices or inventories
  • Treat customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction including on-time delivery of undamaged goods
  • Ability to read route sheets and service each customer on route or assigned by the dispatcher
  • Maintain daily contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and ensures proper working condition
  • Perform daily inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires; pre-trip and post-trip duties
  • Adhere to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives to satisfy customer needs
  • Document each delivery by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone system
  • Complete and file all logs including electronic in a precise and timely manner
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Always obey posted speed limits and all other rules of the road
  • Follow accident protocol as outlined by safety team including reporting incidents to supervisor
  • Other duties may be assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Exposure to outside weather, including frequent hot and cold conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate
  • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, so employee will be required to follow basic safety precautions
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, climb and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday and Sunday as needed, 40-70-hour work week
  • This position does require over the road travel
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A CDL (Class A) license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Consistent work history
  • Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens are required
  • Maintain active commercial driver license
  • Proven safe and responsible driving record
  • Experience with hauling bulk dirt, rocks, mulch, and landscape material is a plus
  • Able to pass the DOT physical examination
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Basic mechanical skills to perform regular vehicle inspections
