Location Description The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is 1,120,845 square feet and home to about 470 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits® and 9Lives®. This location has a cannery that produces wet dog food and there is also a Distribution Center on-site. Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, a landmark Town Park with many acres of recreational activities, and has one of the largest and longest running fairs in the country. Responsibilities The responsibility of this position is to make timely and correct shipments of product to customers and inter-company locations as well as receiving product into the Bloomsburg Distribution Center. Forklift drivers are responsible for several areas within the DC including Receiving, Shipping, Order Picking, Inventory, and Put Away of product. All drivers perform these duties on a rotating basis. Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available Pay Rate: $25.32/hour Quality Statement: Each employee shall be aware of the importance of the element of quality in their daily job function. The employees shall be able to comply with the GMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices) pertaining to the manufacturing, storage, and distribution of food. The employee should be able to maintain a constant awareness of the appropriate and proper personal hygiene for a food storage and distribution facility, be able to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to produces a safe and quality product that meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Employees shall also be aware that our customers may request additional measures to be taken in quality and food safety systems such as those put forth in the Global Food Safety Initiative that include the British Retail Consortium (BRC).” DESCRIBE THE PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE: Maintain product safety, quality and legality for storage and distribution of product in accordance with Post Consumer Brands quality policy and standards. Receiving Unload incoming trucks and rail car shipments. Verify sku and amount of product received. Complete inbound paperwork, ensuring correct account numbers recorded, proper signatures, proper date codes recorded, and quantities checked. Check shipments for infestation & damage. Make any necessary repairs. Enter received assets into computer. (RF) Shipping Manually verify all pallet counts on staged shipments. Load trucks and/or rail cars utilizing forklift, ensuring correct weights and placement of product. Load per driver specification weight distribution and the ability for product to fit in trailer. Utilize proper SOP loading procedures and diagrams. Check for damage and infestation before and while loading. Load orders accordingly so there is no damage while in transit. Enter shipped assets into computer Case Picking / Directed Work: Utilize computer-generated pick sheets and RF units. Utilize forklift to select orders for shipment. Check for damage and fix when found. Check for infestation and fix when found. Stage orders in staging area. Verify correct product code, location, and day code with RF system. (count back process) Inventory: Perform cycle counts – verify numbers on selected products and complete paperwork. Verify holds – placing/removing tags pallet boards. Enter into computer any product moved within the DC. Consolidation of product. Pull random samples for QA as requested. Put Away: Pick up product from conveyor at production area, keeping pace with production. Put away product within distribution center, ensuring correct placement at all times. Maintain record of all products received from production through entry in RF unit. All products must be received with license plate including product code, day code, amount, and location. All forklift drivers Assure compliance to all quality standards, GMP and BRC requirements. To be observant to detect and report potential equipment failures to avoid damage to or loss of equipment. To be observant and willing to suggest changes or modifications to equipment or processes to help improve efficiencies. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications HS Diploma or GED Prior experience preferred but not needed.
