Evening, night and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.Summary: The Shuttle Driver position will be responsible for operating a company truck. Responsibilities including shuttling, docking, and staging trailers and/or transport to preselected sites trucks as needed and assisting with any rollouts. The candidate must complete 90 days and be in good standing with the company, for the referral to be paid out.Essential functions:Shuttling, docking, and staging of trailers to preselected dump sites.Operating hydraulic systems on 30-45 open top dump trailers (combination vehicle)Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.Operate manual or electric pallet jack as needed.Utilize a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers and leave all client locations clean and free of debris.Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.General use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment.General maintenance and overall cleanliness of truck, trailer, and electric pallet jack equipment including, but not limited to regular truck washes, greasing trailers, maintaining pallet jacks, and weatherizing pressure washers.Utilize electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required.Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, expense reports, incident reports, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party according to Company procedure.Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations.Communicate with manager, corporate office, and operations team on a regular basis for all service, equipment, customer service-related issues.Report all accidents and injuries immediately according to Company procedure.Attend and participate in regular safety calls, training, and/or briefings.Basic usage of computer and cell phone for training, communications, and expense management.Competency :Time management and ability to maintain route consistency.Communication and customer service skillsProficiency operating Manual and Automatic Transmission vehiclesAbility to use a manual or electric pallet jack.Experience using an Electronic Logging System, such as PeopleNet.Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus.Basic computer and cell phone knowledgeAll drivers must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in an 8-day period.Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
