Position Summary
The Salvation Army Austin Corps is "doing the most good" by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners.
The Driver is responsible for transporting donations and supplies using The Salvation Army's box truck.
$12.24 - $15.00/hour 25 hours/week

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
- Load, unload, and transport food and donations. (90%)
- Maintain vehicle fleet, including cleaning and scheduling maintenance. (5%)
- Assist with special/seasonal events, including room set up, driving supplies, etc. (5%)
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of custodial experience.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, possess a DOT Medical Examiners Certificate, and meet MVR requirements.
- Pass background checks.

Working Conditions
- Regular physical work and driving.
- Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and lift 75 pounds occasionally.

- Must be able to sit and stand for reasonable periods.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, volunteers, and participants.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Driving/Travel Requirements
Regular local driving by agency vehicle. Rare out-of-area travel.
