Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Albuquerque, NM

**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Family Birthing Center
**Job Specialty:** Med-surg Mother/Baby, Labor and Delivery Nurse
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour varied shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years in current specialty and completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
**License:** Active NM or compact license
**Certifications:** BLS, NRP, and AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications required (BLS and PALS must be through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
**Must-Have:**
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment
- Team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
**Job Description:**
- Assess all triage patients 20 weeks and use obstetric triage acuity tools
- Labor assessment and evaluation, including fetal evaluation
- Prepare expectant mothers for safe delivery
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin
- Immediate stabilization of newborns and administer newborn medications
- Prepare for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery
- Postpartum assessment and care for vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Newborn care, including hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts, and care
- Administer newborn medications (hep B, vit K, erythromycin, antibiotics)
- Assist with circumcisions and care for opiate withdrawal newborns
- Stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia care
- Must be the first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location
