Position: CDL A Mixer Driver
Range : $26-$28 per hour
Travel: Required throughout: PA, MD, DE, VA, NC, & NY
We are currently seeking a CDL A Mixer Driver to join our Latex Division. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Mixer Truck Driver is responsible for driving trucks to locations for unloading, truck inspections, charging trucks with latex and cement, and assisting the Latex Team. Must be able to move levers on truck to release concrete down truck chute or directly into area concrete is being poured. Other tasks may include but are not limited to carrying materials and heavy objects, stacking materials, and cleaning of job site. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction tasks and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor .
Qualifications:
  • CDL Class A with Tanker and Air brakes : No restrictions and must be able to drive a manual transmission
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Experience in Heavy Highway construction preferred
  • Must possess a willingness to learn and be teachable
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Moving Mixer trucks and tanker trailers to and from various job sites
  • Maintain driver logs
  • Pass courses and maintain certifications required to produce modified concrete on state jobs
  • Staging Batch areas for latex operations
  • Loading sand and stone into mixers with front end loaders
  • Loading mixers with latex and water via gas powered pumps
  • Loading mixers with cement via compressed air
  • Operate controls on mixer to wash out and clean mixing auger
  • Clean hardened concrete off mixing auger with chipping guns
  • Train closely with other drivers and supervision to learn how to produce latex modified concrete and how to charge mixers
  • Maintain a professional relationship with vendors, contractors, and contract owners
  • Perform work in a safe manner aligned with Wagman's safety and ethics guidelines
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and assist with loading and/or unloading
  • Must be able to be bounced around when driving on very rough terrain. Must be willing to help in other construction related tasks when not driving.
  • Must be able to climb into cab of truck and climb down from the truck cab
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel to perform essential tasks including maintenance and inspection of equipment
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands to move levers/controls to operate the truck and dump attachment
  • Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather.
