Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Onancock, VA

**Must-Have:** EPIC experience, Community Hospital experience, Trauma Level 1 experience
**Job Description:**
- Work in a small Labor and Delivery unit handling approximately 350 deliveries per year.
- Cross-trained to manage Postpartum and Nursery care as needed.
- Float within the department based on the facility's needs.
- Required to work every other weekend.
- Maintain patient ratios as follows: Days - 1:3, Nights - 1:2, Weekends - 1:6.
**Required Skills:**
- Competent in settings such as Antepartum, Facility births/month >300, Labor and Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, Mother/Baby.
- Antepartum Care: Assist with sterile speculum exams, NSTs, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, and use of EFM.
- Fetal Monitoring: Proficient in using both external and internal fetal monitoring technologies.
- Medication & Administration: Knowledge of administering anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline.
- Labor and Delivery Management: Experience with amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and handling forceps/vacuum extraction.
- Newborn Care: Skills in assisting with circumcisions, performing newborn assessments, managing newborn hypoglycemia, and educating parents on care practices like cord care and thermoregulation.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Prefer candidates with previous charge experience.
- Not accepting first-time candidates.
- Require one supervisory reference for submittal; two are needed for compliance.
- Requests to float within the unit may be made.
- Keep requests for time off to a minimum; prefer no requests for an entire calendar week off during the assignment.
