We are seeking a skilled forklift driver who wants to be part of a high performing team in a fast paced warehouse on our1st shift!
Summary:
The Forklift Material Handler - Receiving will be responsible for safe and proper unloading of supplies/ components/ chemicals from trailers on the Receiving Docks. This position will also be responsible for accurate dock to stock put- away, as well as ensuring accurate inventory locations/ row cards in the warehouse. This position may on occasion be requested to assist with unloading equipment.
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible to operate and maintain a sit-down/or stand-up forklift (gas or electric) safely, and for following all safety policies and procedures
  • Responsible for completion of daily operating forklift safety checklist
  • Responsible for safe and proper unloading of supplies/components/chemicals from trailers at receiving docks
  • Accountable for following IKI Receiving procedures and for ensuring accuracy of completed receiving paperwork
  • Responsible for accurately entering receivals into SAP when requested
  • Responsible for ensuring samples of all incoming components are given to Quality department timely
  • Responsible for ensuring all received components are labeled correctly with IKI part
  • Responsible for ensuring chemicals are received in safely and samples are drawn according to Company's chemical sampling procedure
  • Responsible for safe put-away of components in warehouse in accordance with safety procedures
  • Accountable for accurate row cards and maintaining inventories by components by clients - on the floor and pushback racking
  • Responsible for communicating any issues with receivals to Receiving Lead in a timely manner
  • Responsible for accurately recording any applicable inventory transfer forms between warehouses when components are moved or received
  • Responsible for assisting with cycle counts when requested
  • Responsible for participating in annual inventory
  • Maintain good housekeeping in area and adhere to Company Safety Policies
  • Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and be able to work with limited supervision
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts
  • Performs additional duties assigned
Qualifications:
  • Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds required
  • Ability to operate at heights up to 50 feet required
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time required
  • Team Player with strong oral and written communication skills in English, who adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, changes approach or method to best fit the situation and deals with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Diligent leader who can direct team members as needed and complete tasks successfully with little or no guidance
  • Dedicated to completing the daily tasks required, both directed and implied
  • Ability to move materials within the warehouse both physically and systematically
  • Sense of urgency - act with the realization that efficiency is vital to success
  • Highly collaborative - collaboration is the fuel of our business, whether it is between employees, departments or customers
  • Requirements for this position include excellent record-keeping abilities, great attention to detail and knowledge and experience with Purchase Orders, Receiving transactions, Internal/External Inventory and material inventory transactions. SAP knowledge a plus
  • Experience operating material handling equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead
  • Ability to work in a face paced warehouse
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with both internal partners and external clients
  • He/she must be able to read, write and understand English
  • 2-4 years Warehouse/Distribution experience - demonstrated math skills
  • Intermediate knowledge/skills Microsoft Office (Work, Excel & PowerPoint) and ERP systems like SAP
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, leadership/management and customer service skills
  • Ability to schedule and execute multiple tasks among competing priorities
  • Adeptly solves problems in an efficient and well-thought-out manner
  • Knowledgeable on safety practices, OSHA requirements and 5S best practices
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing and Warehousing Environment
  • Areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather
  • Protective gear will be required (for eyes, ears, and feet)
Hours:
  • M-F: between 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
  • Position requires ability to work overtime, varying start times and weekends dependent on business need
Education/Experience:
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Previous forklift experience required
  • Proven demonstration of safe operation of forklift and other power moving equipment
