Job Summary
Barge Dock employees who are training to be able to fully perform the functions of a Material Handler II. This includes but is not limited to learning to assist in grain movement via truck, barge, or rail.

Job Summary
Barge Dock employees who are training to be able to fully perform the functions of a Material Handler II. This includes but is not limited to learning to assist in grain movement via truck, barge, or rail.
Facility Expectations
- Follow the expectations of all safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Ensure product quality expectations are met.
- Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
- Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
- Work with other colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
- Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.
- Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
- Required to work overtime as specified by management.
- Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
- Apply PE principles and standards to your work area and work processes
- Assists in grain barge loading.
- Analyzes and repairs basic mechanical problems.
- Performs minor carpentry work in river terminal areas
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements pertaining to river terminal operations.
- Knowledge of all company environmental and safety rules pertaining to river terminals.
- Work in situation where human error could result in financial loss or personal injury Knowledge of department order of operations.
- Knowledge of the process of Sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks.
- Sweeps out grain bins and scrapes hoppers to remove remaining grain.
- Training on grain grading proficiency.
- Material handlers are directly involved with placing grain throughout the facility and ensuring that grain is segregated as needed to maintain good quality in our storage tanks.
- Rotate product as necessary.
- Housekeeping is still a job duty of all ADM employees.
- High School diploma or GED with strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing).
- Previous warehouse and/or industrial plant experience preferred.
- Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights.
- Must have a valid driver's license to drive company vehicles to transport self and items across site.
- Requires working in extreme temperature conditions. No areas being climate controlled.
- Ability to use computers including Microsoft Office skills. Basic math and writing skills Previous Maximo or CMMS experience beneficial.
- Strong attendance record.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Customer focused when interacting with all site colleagues & vendors daily.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours. Overtime required including extended hours and Saturday work during plant shutdown periods.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record keeping.
- Flexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvement.
- Cross training as needed.
- Promote the ADM Way and Core Values.
- Understanding of the importance of Safety
- First-aid and CPR instruction.
