The Crane Oiler will assist the crane operator in the operation, maintenance, and safety of the crane. Responsibilities include lubricating crane parts, helping with rigging and hand signals during lifts, ensuring the crane's cleanliness, and assisting with maintenance. The Crane Oiler also monitors crane movement to prevent tipping and works closely with the operator to gain experience toward becoming a crane operator. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly lubricate the crane's moving parts to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear and tear.
• Assist with rigging operations and provide clear hand signals to guide the crane operator during lifting operations to ensure safe and efficient load handling.
• Work alongside the crane operator to help determine when the boom is clear to move loads safely.
• Assist in the routine maintenance and repair of the crane and its accessory equipment, ensuring everything is in proper working condition.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the crane, both inside the cab and externally, to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
• Help set up safety barriers, including erecting rope and flag barricades around the crane during operation.
• Monitor the crane's tracks and signal the operator if the crane is showing signs of tipping or instability.
• Work closely with the crane operator in the cab, gaining valuable experience to eventually progress toward becoming a certified crane operator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience working with heavy machinery or cranes.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and hand signaling for crane operations.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with crane operators and ground crews.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field, with an interest in advancing to a crane operator role.

Compensation: $30-$35 per hour, based on experience.
