The salary range for this role is:
$19.80 - $22.80
Responsibilities:
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting devices.
  • Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Load and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Lubricate trucks, recharge batteries, fill fuel tanks, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
  • Must be able to up-stack and down-stack pallets of case goods four (4) high.
  • Must be able to handle standard forklifts, push-pull, and clamp trucks.
  • Must be able to up-stack and down-stack can units four (4) high.
  • Must have working knowledge of all stock locations.
  • Upon receipt of shipping papers, car loader must be able, single-handedly if required, to inspect, prepare, chart, load, secure, seal, and release a rail car, sea van, piggyback van, or dry van.
  • Must have a working knowledge of shipping I.D. codes, can marks, computerized tagging system, and quality standards.
  • Car loader accepts the responsibility to maintain excellent standards for shipping to keep non transportation damage at a minimum.
  • Must understand and follow Safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Forklift certification and training will be provided by Del Monte Foods, Inc
  • 1-3 years forklift experience preferred, but not required
  • Forklift operating experience highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment including occasional weekends.
