General Description:
The CDL B Delivery Driver is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The CDL B Delivery Driver does this by performing daily inspections on trucks, reporting daily on trucks' operating conditions, and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in safe and professional operating conditions.The CDL B Delivery Driver is also responsible for maintaining driver logs by federal motor carrier regulations, promoting, and maintaining company, FMCSA, FSMA, and OSHA safety policies.The CDL B Delivery Driver completes these functions in support of the distribution of dairy-related products.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of distribution, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
  2. Responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering dairy products from the warehouse to customers.
  3. Rotate and fill shelves with merchandise at retail locations removing out-of-date products as needed.
  4. Assist in writing customer orders and make changes as needed. Accurate account collection and reconciliation. Collect all empty cases returning to the warehouse at the end of the shift.
  5. Provide superior customer service to each account through timely and accurate delivery of all products, always engaging in positive interactions with customers.Act as a liaison of the company, resolve customer concerns and issues and provide information to supervisory staff when unable to do so.
  6. Operate straight trucks in compliance with all DOT regulations.
  7. Must be able to drive a standard transmission.
  8. Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
  9. Maintain accurate HOS records on electronic logging devices (ELD).
  10. Notifies others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and begins to identify areas to assist in resolving concerns.
  11. Responsible for complying with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  12. Aids and supports to all areas as assigned by supervisor.
  13. Covers staffing needs as assigned by their supervisor.
  14. Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy distribution and safety on their assigned shift and reported concerns to their supervisor.
  15. Works in a safe manner reports safety concerns promptly to their supervisor and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
  16. Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
  17. Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adhere to sanitation practices.
  18. Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments.
Essential Knowledge, and Skills:
  1. Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and knowledge of weights and measures, to sufficiently handle job tasks.
  2. Understand and respond appropriately to basic and complex, employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
  3. Read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).
  4. Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and your role in achieving each of them.
  5. Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
  6. Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
  7. Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
Education/Experience:
  1. Minimum of 1 year driving experience with CDL-A/B with Air Brake with excellent driving history.
  2. Must be able to drive a standard transmission.
  3. Must be able to drive automatic straight trucks.
Performance Standards:
  1. Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager before the occurrence.
  2. Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.
  3. Responsible for being well-groomed and dressed in a business-and position-appropriate attire at all times including ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards.
  4. Comply with performance criteria, and standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures, and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
  5. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
  6. Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Schedule:
  1. Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on the assigned shift.
  2. Monday-Friday HOME DAILY.
  3. Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by the Supervisor/Manager.
  4. Salaried: Required to stay within the daily and weekly HOS regulations.
Environmental Concerns:
  1. Normally protected from weather and temperature changes where exposure to hot cold wet, humid, or windy weather conditions exist.
  2. May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens.
  3. May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.

Physical Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, retail space, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building.
  2. Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
  3. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break.
  4. Physically able to frequently stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  5. Must be able to push/pull stacks of crates weighing up to 250lbs; carts - 800lbs.
  6. Use of a hand cart is required.
  7. Utilization of ramp and/or lift gate to aid in delivery.
  8. Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is up to $68,000+. This position is also eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 to be paid out in increments within a candidate's first year of employment.
