Summary/ObjectiveReporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Forklift Operator verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.Essential FunctionsOperates lift trucks, pallet jacks or hand trucks to convey or move materials to proper departments or areas.Utilizing a radio frequency (RF) scanner, scans inventory moves to track inventory.Processes daily LTL and parcel shipments.```{=html}``` - Operates the shrink wrap machines. - Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with appropriate person to rectify damages and shortages. - Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. - Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods. - Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. - Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. - Responsible for always keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.```{=html}``` - Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. - Required to complete verification of all paperwork against product/material coming in and out of the facility. - Completes daily forklift checklist. - Complies with procedures, rules and regulations. - All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:1 years of shipping and receiving experienceRequired CompetenciesAbility to be forklift certified.Ability to read, comprehend instructions and memos in English; Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.```{=html}``` - Must have basic computer skills, inventory control knowledge. - Basic computer skills, inventory control knowledge.```{=html}``` - Self- motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadline in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment - Strong customer orientationSupervisory ResponsibilityNoneWork EnvironmentThe physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in a warehouse environment with prolonged periods driving a forklift. Experiences heat and cold conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazards. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Classification/Expected Hours of EmploymentThis position is a full-time position that is non-exempt.
