Summary Under general supervision, drives a yard truck to move and maneuver trailers to transport goods to and from locations throughout the facility. Monitors the maintenance and repair of the yard truck. Also operates a forklift to move materials throughout production, warehouse, storage, and shipping/receiving areas. This position follows standard work and safety methods, practices, and procedures in support of an efficient and safe production environment. Compensation $22.93 - 30.91 Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. What you will do * Drives a yard truck to transport empty and full trailers to load and off-load goods, chemicals and other supplies, including tankers, to various locations throughout the facility or other local locations. * Inspect trailers, tanks, and yard trucks to ensure they are in good working condition and reports any issues. * Perform routine maintenance on the yard trucks. * Performs warehouse Forklift or Warehouse Operator duties as assigned. * Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team member's safety. * Responsible for compliance with Gallo sustainability policies and practices which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound. This is done by supporting programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results. * Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. Supervisory Responsabilites N/A What you need * High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 2 years of previous yard driver/truck driving experience specifically driving and repositioning tractor trailers. * Commercial Driver License (Class A) required. * Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a New York driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire. * Must be able to be lift truck certified. * Required to be at least 21 years of age. * Basic math, writing skills * Required to comply with company GMP policies. * Required to work overtime as needed. * Required to work any shift as needed. * Required to lift and move up to 55 lbs. * Required to pass in-house clamp and forklift skills tests to become a Certified Forklift and Clamp Driver * Must be able to re-certify Clamp Driver skills attained as required. * Required to be physically capable of executing all essential functions of the job. * Accepts constructive feedback and alter behavior accordingly. * Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. What will set you apart * High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 3 years of previous yard driver/truck driver experience specifically driving and repositioning tractor trailers. * Current Forklift or Clamp Certification. * Experience with computerized Warehouse Management System. * Experience working in a team environment. * Experience working in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment. Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to: Frequently set reaching with frequent torso and neck rotation and constant handling and grasping; Occasionally standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling * Constant movements occur while operating the yard truck and foot controls on the lifts on a constant basis * Hand and finger dexterity and gross manipulation occurs on a constant basis in terms of operating the knobs and controls on the lift * Constant sitting for the majority of the work shift in terms of driving the yard truck and forklift. *Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable to 20/20 vision with peripheral vision. * Must be able to lift and move up to 55 lbs. Work Enviromernt *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the following: *The employee will be working indoors and outdoors; maybe exposed to extreme temperatures; works in high places and works on wet surfaces. *Exposure to dust, fumes and toxic chemicals; *The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; *The primary working surface is concrete. *Works near moving, mechanical parts and clamp lifts, forklifts, pallet carts, pallet jacks. *Primary work environment is warehouse/distribution setting.
