MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.

The employee must operate all equipment to include Pacer, Turret Truck, Order Picker, and Walkie/Rider, and work at elevations of 35 feet wearing Personal Protective Equipment - Safety Harness. This job requires computer knowledge of WMS. Required to work in other areas and other locations as assigned based on workload.
All Rolling Equipment Operators are assigned a department and a direct supervisor. Utilizing the Flexible Workforce concept and Skills Assessment program, Rolling Equipment Operators can be asked, at any point throughout the day, to move to a different department and even different physical location to assist in meeting production requirements to meet the customers' demands. The essential functions of this job description only reflect the requirements of an employee assigned to the Returns Center
Responsible for operating rolling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise, as well as operate the baler. The rolling equipment operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operating of the equipment and performing other warehouse functions that require the use of rolling equipment or material handling equipment.

Employee Must Complete Certification:
- Attend classroom training and successfully complete a written test
- Types of Accidents
- Safety Procedures during all aspects of operating equipment
- Discussion on equipment capacity, load center, and center of gravity
- Equipment classifications
- Successfully complete hands-on training with a certified Forklift Instructor - Employee must be certified to operate any piece of equipment

- Harness replaced every 5 years
- Harness to be replaced immediately following a slip or fall
- Proper way to wear all PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) required for certification and safety
- Location and use of Eye Wash Stand
General Duties:
- Unloads inbound shipments and moves product to assigned staging area safely.
- Stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate location efficiently.
- Puts processed returns in the correct rack location according to the transaction instructions.
- Uses WMS (Warehouse Management System) to record moves and transfers of stock.
- Moves product from staging and/or storage areas to processing areas efficiently.
- Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee tight inventory control and security are maintained.
- Ensures proper carton labels and pallet ID's are generated and affixed.
- Reviews receipt BOLs for accuracy before signing.
- Reviews Return Authorization file for inbound Collect Shipments.
- Accurately separates strip covers from book shipment.
- Properly enters Key Record receipt information into WMS for accurate tracking of materials through Processing.
- Ensures that good pallets are properly handled and stored. Damaged pallets are separated from good pallets and placed on pallet trailer.
- Delivers receipts to processing stations in a timely manner and ensures even distribution of work.
- Remove and replace Gaylords (large corrugation box) of destroy from processing.
- Ensure all loose cardboard and waste material is properly disposed.
- Pulls product for stock transfers to other warehouses.
- Pulls product for customer orders.
- Resupplies corrugate stock at forward rack locations.
- Operates the stretch wrapper and pallet banding equipment.
- Loads outbound shipments onto carrier trailers.
- Builds outbound destroy loads for Hampton Steam/Covanta.
- Move NOP/RES and strip cover product from Processing to designated areas.
- Follows all processes regarding safe operation of shredder, baler and accurate counts and weights of trailer loads of hogged books.
- Ensures product for shipments are properly palletized, wrapped, weighed and banded if necessary.
- Separates mint-carton stock from loose stock before transferring to GVL warehouse.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Complies with all established environmental, health and safety requirements in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time and damage.
Secondary Duties:
- Assists in cycle counts.
- Identifies books that can be refurbished (made salable) from the "hurt category".

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent and six months to one year related rolling equipment experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos. Ability to write legibly and effectively communicate one-on-one.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Other skills and abilities:
Basic computer and keyboarding skills and the ability to learn WMS.
