The Driver is responsible for the timely pick-up or delivery of items to and from customers and KP facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and safely picks up, delivers and transports items (such as materials, supplies, mail, etc) to and from specified destinations, such as customers, vendors and other KP facilities.
  • Read and interprets records to determine pick-up and delivery priorities.
  • Prepare, wrap and band materials and pallets for safe transport.
  • Loads and unloads truck safely and efficiently by hand, hand truck or forklift.
  • Determines routing and legal road limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits.
  • Practices and adheres to KP Safe Driving Policy at all times and abides by traffic laws.
  • Maintain vehicle and schedules service as required.
  • Assist in warehouse as requested.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 2 years related work experience or combination of both.
  • At least two years of driving experience with class of vehicle to be driving.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record with no traffic violations.
  • Good verbal, written and listening skills; ability to read, understand and follow SOP's, supervisor instructions and safety, security and quality procedures.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and forklifts in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
  • Coordinates own work with others and works collaboratively to meet needs of department.
  • Use self-management skills to plan, organize and prioritize work activities to use time efficiently.
  • Interpersonal skills to get along with employees, respond positively to instructions and procedures.
Certificates and Licenses: Current valid Driver's license for class of vehicle being driven; forklift certification.
