BRIEF DESCRIPTION :
Responsible for always maintaining cleanliness and safety standards on the food truck and cooking menu items. Knowledgeable of how to order food products, supplies and maintain food inventory. Candidate will also drive the food truck. Distribute food at assigned sites and knowledgeable of road safety procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Receive deliveries and stores food in refrigerators and freezers. Clean food preparation areas and removes garbage from the kitchen. Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked. Preparing dishes on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces. Making sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. Cleaning prep areas, taking care of leftovers, stocking inventory and supplies. Make lists of items that need to be ordered and assists in keeping the kitchen organized. Drive vehicle to transport food following all food safety regulations to and from the UPO authorized kitchen(s) to designated community pop-up sites. Perform daily maintenance of the truck regarding refueling and cleaning. Load and unload truck regularly and support with separate food truck operations and or products purchased products by UPO while unloading the company vehicle. Assists with operations as needed and directed by the Food Service Manager around logistics. Have the ability to write messages and maintain notes, comply and compete with current Foodservice & Safety Standards. Know how to stock inventory and equipment. Stock and prep inventory and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a High School/GED diploma and at least 5 years cooking in a professional commercial kitchen where he/she has the ability to read and execute a recipe. Must be able to self-motivate and prepare meals accordingly and professionally. Familiar with point of sales (POS), computers and software.
Must have a valid driver's license and possess a current Certified Professional Food Managers License.
Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree with direct experience working in a culinary setting. Should have knowledge and
experience working in a professional kitchen and be able to execute a recipe. Familiar with plating guide
specifications and possess First Aid &CPR certification.
