Job Requirements / Description
Red Horse Seed Production is seeking to hire a hard-working, reliable Truck Driver to join our team! This individual will be responsible for safely transporting packaged and bulk seed, both locally and within the Midwest. Very limited overnight travel - you will be home most nights! CDL and medical certification required, T endorsement and prior driving experience preferred.
*Duties*
* Transport finished and raw goods.
* Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues. Perform preventative maintenance.
* Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
* Document and log work hours and miles. Retain fuel receipts.
* Comply with truck driving laws (size, weight, route designations) as well as the company policies and procedures.
* Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
* Collect and verify delivery instructions. Ensure signatures on paperwork are both signed and printed.
* Help in the warehouse when not on the road. Assist at other Red Horse Seed Production locations if needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Skills*
* Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and medical certification required.
* Double/Triple Trailers (T endorsement) preferred.
* Detail-orientated with excellent record-keeping skills.
* Strong problem-solving ability and customer service skills.
* Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
* Experience with electronic equipment and software preferred (ELogs, iPads, Email).
* Forklift certified (will train and certify upon hire).
* Ability to work well with a team and independently.
*Working Conditions*
* Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. Weekends may be required on an as-needed basis and would be approved by the Logistics Manager.
* Additional overtime is expected during spring and fall; overtime is available depending on work.
* Dust (masks provided).
* Exposure to all weather elements (winter clothing allowance provided).
* Clean out grain bins with grain vac.
*Physical Requirements*
* Need to be able to climb ladders and into bins.
* Need to be able to run pallet jack.
* Need to be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
* Required to work in extreme weather conditions all four seasons.
