YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include picking, packaging and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments and stocking the warehouse racks. Production tasks include material handling, machine operation, labeling and packaging of product. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Operations Supervisor or Manager.
Description:
Shipping

• Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety check and signs off on daily equipment check list certifying everything is in good operating condition.
• Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
• Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock.
• Notify the Supervisor of shortages.
• Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements.
• Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.
• Maintain/organize work area for safety and efficiency.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point.
• Organize pick tickets/BOLs and double check shipments before loading.
• Assists other employees when needed with loading, lifting, and searching for freight.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and supervisors.
• Assists customers and drivers when they come to the dock to pick up freight.

Receiving

• Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sort, count, package, label, and put away inventory that is received.
• Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify management of findings.
• Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Operate pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.
• Operate stretch-wrap machines.

YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents written in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, auditors, and customers and others.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights being loaded.
• Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited time exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and physical examination.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment in a safe and sensible manner.
• Must have the ability to understand and operate computers and RF devices as needed to perform necessary tasks.
• Must have the ability to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate forklift operators certification.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DOT HM-126F, IATA, and other required certifications as required by position and law.
• Must be able to operate a non-motorized pallet jack.
• Must have good housekeeping skills.
• Must be able to use a broom to sweep out trailers and clean work areas.
