Location:Fort Payne, AlabamaJob Summary:Drives gas powered yard truck or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, swing reach, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities/ AccountabilitiesPositions forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, materials and transports load to designated areaUnloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting devicePulls ordersScans merchandise and locations using RF technologyPuts away merchandise to appropriate locations verified by the RF scannerOperates equipment using The Children’s Place and Cal OSHA safety standardsCompletes equipment checklist before and after each use in order to verify condition of machineImmediately reports any problems with the machines to the Maintenance SupervisorMoves trailers to their designated areaJob KnowledgeDemonstrates proficiency in technical/functional skills to perform job functions effectivelyMakes safety a priority and adheres to all company safety guidelines and proceduresIs knowledgeable in all of the details of the job, with a good understanding of related functions and/or departmentsApplies job knowledge to handle issues and resolve problemsUnderstands how individual contribution impacts department's resultsProductivity and Quality of WorkWorks quickly and efficiently to ensure that the expected volume of work is produced and deadlines are metIs detail-oriented; completes work accurately and thoroughlyMakes effective use of time; continually establishes and revises priorities as neededIs committed to and produces a quality work product or serviceCommunication and Interpersonal SkillsConveys information and ideas clearlyCommunicates necessary issues/concerns to his/her supervisorCommunicates with tact and resolves conflict in a positive wayEnsures a professional and courteous interaction with co-workers, supervisor, and internal/external customersInitiative and DependabilitySeeks to learn new skills and improve job knowledge and expertiseUtilizes available resources to accomplish job responsibilitiesCan be relied upon to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision or directionPursues work with energy, drive, and a need for completionTeamworkWorks toward team goals and shares in the workload of others when neededValues the input and expertise of other associatesParticipates in the training of other team members when neededBuilds strong relationships; gains the trust and respect of other team membersProfessional Work CharacteristicsIs punctual and works required scheduleIs organized and maintains a neat work areaPerforms well under pressure and within time constraintsIs flexible to the changing needs and demands of workRelevant Experience/RequirementsRegularly required to use hands while controlling equipment; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loudMust have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and to write correspondenceBasic math skills are required, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divideMust have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and the ability to effectively communicate with SupervisorA minimum of three to six months related experience and/or trainingBasic PC skills are requiredAll equipment operators must be trained and certified by The Children’s Place. Each equipment operator will be responsible for passing a written and behind-the-wheel examination with a minimum score of 70%
