**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
**License:** RN License in state of employment or compact
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Current certification from NCC - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or one of the following courses: Intermediate FHM, Intermediate FHM Instructor, Advanced FHM Instructor, or Instructor Trainer at the time of hire for experienced nurses
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates, to be maintained thereafter
- NRP certification at the time of hire for experienced nurses; within 60 days for new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty, to be maintained thereafter
**Must-Have:**
- Ability to perform unit-specific competencies based on patient care needs
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements
**Job Description:**
- Practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of a clinical situation
- Provide routine and complex care with a focus on long-range goals or plans
- Develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing
- Delegate and make appropriate assignments to other care providers
- Meet expectations of competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
- Use critical thinking skills to assess patient and family needs in various dimensions
- Communicate findings to the healthcare team and modify care plans to meet individual patient needs
- Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures; monitor treatment progression and teaching goals
- Plan, direct, and evaluate overall nursing care and functions during an assigned shift
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Educate and train others on operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry
- Promote a safe environment resulting in positive patient outcomes through patient safety practices and guidelines
- Provide evidence-based nursing care and communicate patient information effectively
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare-related laws and regulations
- Maintain patient documentation and flow of information between various stations or units
- Use diagnostic tools and techniques to resolve equipment problems and educate patients about home medical equipment use
- Process medical orders and ensure accuracy in entering, validating, updating, and forwarding orders
- Read and interpret patient charts accurately and address any discrepancies
- Ensure patient safety and document any issues or incidents promptly.
