Location

This position is based out of our Denver/Lone Tree, CO office. Additional location options are in Houston, TX; Portland, OR; Kansas City, KS; Chicago, IL; San Diego, CA; Columbus, OH; and Raleigh, NC. Relocation is available for well-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a collaborative team to understand client needs, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates.
  2. Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and/or client standards.
  3. Oversee creation of computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and TOWER.
  4. Oversee assembly of drawings, specifications, and design criteria for the procurement of tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and transmission line hardware.
  5. Oversee development of comprehensive construction packages for internal construction crews and client contractors.
  6. Provide design oversight and quality reviews for complex drawing packages ensuring client and code requirements are met for the project.
  7. Drive a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement.
  8. Present to management, analyze PLS-CADD reports, formulate design aids, and draft reports using Microsoft 365.
  9. Communicate resource needs and ensure project schedules and budgets are maintained.
  10. Visit construction sites, meet in client offices, and travel out of town as required by projects and assignments.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. At least 5 years’ experience designing and engineering transmission lines between 69kV and 345kV preferred.
  3. Professional Engineering (PE) License strongly preferred.
  4. Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole; PLS TOWER experience preferred.
  5. Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and geotechnical recommendation application for foundation design preferred.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while managing a diversified workload efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds. Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).

Base Compensation

$109,998 - $168,653 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
